When is Carnival 2027?
Curaçao Carnival 2027 runs from mid-January through early March 2027, ending on the Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The main Grand Parade (Gran Marcha) takes place on the final Sunday, filling the streets of Willemstad with elaborate floats and costumed dancers. The festival officially closes on the night of Shrove Tuesday (Mardi Gras) with the burning of King Momo, a symbolic figure representing the excesses of Carnival.

Getting around during Carnival
This is the part that catches visitors out. Parades close major roads through Willemstad, sometimes for most of a day, and routes that normally take fifteen minutes get diverted at short notice. Demand runs far above a normal weekend at the same time.
Book earlier than usual
Not because cars are unavailable, but because journeys take longer. Allow roughly double your normal travel time on parade days.
Agree a meeting point
If the road by your hotel is closed, your driver cannot reach the door. Pick a junction outside the closure and set the pin there.
